Chemical industry

Pollutants often contain a mixture of different substances in both soil and groundwater, such as chlorinated solvents, styrene, phenols, petroleum components, volatile aromatic hydrocarbons, phthalates, PAH compounds, heavy metals and pesticides.

A source approach is mostly tailored to the situation and involves various techniques. A mixture of contaminants often requires a specific and phased approach. Sometimes, in collaboration with, for example, an engineering firm, the decision is made to obtain a better idea about the contaminated situation by conducting targeted soil analysis.

For less accessible pollutants or, for example, a mixture of chemical substances, feasibilities studies can be developed and pilot remediations designed and carried out. This design phase is often performed in close collaboration with an engineering firm. To support our approach, we execute degradation tests under our own management. These services provide guidance to enable our customers to achieve viable remediation.

For example, bioscreens can be used to prevent pollution in operating areas from spreading further to adjacent areas of land. With relatively little disruption of operations, the effects on surrounding properties such as residential areas can be quickly, demonstrably and sustainably reduced.
